CONSULTANT, Trades & Labour Recruitment Services
Reports to: Team Leader, Divisional Manager, Executive/Senior Management

Overall Objective

To act on behalf of operatives and clients to ensure that the service we provide is done so to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

  1. Pay due regard to the REC code of Good Recruitment Practice.
  2. Achieve minimum standards of sales activities and meet company expectations as laid out by management.
  3. Canvass existing and potential clients with a view to securing business and promoting our image, goals and aims in line with our mission statement.
  4. Carry out in depth or face to face interviews. Consultants should ascertain accurately an applicant's work experience, abilities, requirements and aspirations, using relevant questioning techniques.
  5. Keep accurate records and occasionally carry out administrative duties in order to meet business requirements, legal requirements and internal quality systems.
  6. Record client vacancies on a Job Order Form, maximising information obtained by using relevant questioning techniques.
  7. Inform all relevant consultants of applicable job vacancies.
  8. Match applicant abilities and aspirations to vacancies and use relevant selling skills to secure interviews.
  9. Identify client and applicant objections and effectively overcome them by using relevant selling techniques, both on the telephone and when visiting Clients on their premises.
  10. Establish and send or re-confirm our terms of business with the client at the earliest opportunity.
  11. Negotiate, within company guidelines, rates and fee details with the client before placement confirmation.
  12. Confirm all placements by sending out the relevant documentation to the client, applicant and accounts department.
  13. Sell other services offered by the company where appropriate.
  14. Keep your line manager regularly informed and updated on activities either current or expected.
  15. Keep abreast of all information affecting the discipline by reading relevant journals and the national press.
  16. Prepare advertisements to attract new applicants.
  17. At all times carry out responsibilities with due regard to the company's Equal Opportunities Policy and Health and Safety Regulations.
  18. Sundry other duties.
